A Rare Case of Primary Cystic Duct Adenocarcinoma

1. Summary Primary cystic duct adenocarcinomas is rare amongst the extrahepatic bile duct malignancy. Moreso it has a very difficult preoperative diagnosis and is diagnosed intraoperatively or postoperatively. It has a better prognosis compared to other extrahepatic biliary tumours. We describe a case which was preoperatively diagnosed as carcinoma neck of gall bladder, intraoperatively showing …

Intrahepatic Portal Hypertension Syndrome Secondary to Primary Myelofibrosis: About A Case

1. Summary In primary myelofibrosis (PM), it is rare to observe PH by intrahepatic block secondary to hepatic myeloid metaplasia. Its diagnosis is histological based on liver biopsy. Splenomegaly and hepatomegaly are the main signs found at the beginning of the disease, while ascites and digestive hemorrhage are complications that cloud the prognosis. The etiological …

A large Gastric Diverticulum: A Rare Endoscopic Finding

1. Abstract 1.1. Introduction: A gastric diverticulum is a rare form of diverticular disease due to outpouching of the gastric wall. The rates of detection vary depending upon the method used to detect them. Occasionally, complications, such as ulceration, upper gastro intestinal bleeding, hemorrhage, perforation, and malignant transformation, can develop that may be life-threatening and …

Non Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis of the Rectum: Case Report and Review of the Literature

1. Abstract Histiocytosis is a condition resulting from the abnormal proliferation of dentritic cells of the mononuclear phagocytic system. Previously classified as Langerhans cell histiocytosis and non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and recently into 5 categories (L, C, R, M and H), it can be localized to an organ or have a systemic manifestation, affecting most commonly …

Unusual ERCP Complication: Unwanted Course of Misdirected Bile

1. Abstract Biliary stent complications include stent migration, obstruction, fragmentation, bleeding, perforation, cholangitis, and post-ERCP pancreatitis. Stent migration is the most common adverse event (5-14%) and is associated with: dilated CBD >10mm, benign stricture etiology, concomitant sphincterotomy, stent duration >1 month, and type of stent placed (straight, 10Fr diameter, and length >9cm). Here, we present …

Transcatheter Arterial Embolization of the Common Hepatic Artery For Pseudoaneurysm After a Laparoscopic-Assisted Pancreaticoduodenectomy: A Case Report

1. Abstract Common hepatic artery (CHA) pseudoaneurysm is a rare and potentially life-threatening complication after pancreaticoduodenectomy, and the possible cause is unclear. We report a case of intraperitoneal hemorrhage after pancreaticoduodenectomy who was discharged after embolization under DSA. We consider that this complication may be related to iatrogenic injury.

A Unusual Case of Acute Abdomena

1. Introduction The pathological and embryological origin of Meckel’s diverticulum was first described in 1809 [1]. The omphalomesenteric duct connects the yolk sac to the midgut of the developing fetus. Meckel’s diverticulum occurs when there is a failure of obliteration of this primitive vitelline loop.

The Protect Effects of Sodium Ferulate against Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Through Repress JAK2/STAT3 Signaling In Young and Aged Mice

1. Abstract Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a type of immune-mediated intestinal inflammation caused by a variety of environmental, genetic and epigenetic risk factors. Up to now, there has been no effective drug treatment for IBD in elderly patients. Cytokines (such as IL-6) have been reported to activate Janus tyrosine kinase2 (JAK2)/signal transducer and activator …
